About Us

Hard to believe, but 2024 will mark the 22nd SEASON of ut-tailgaters fun. We were previously in Lot 80, now we hang out at Dean Keaton & San Jacinto, just adjacent to the San Jancinto parking garage (light blue passes).

This whole thing started in the back of a Jeep Cherokee in Lot 80 with, four guys, one tent and TV (which was rare back then). You see, back then we used marine batteries, and satellite dish on a tripod, and of course the old CRT televisions. State of the art stuff for a tailgate in 2002! Turns out that TV made us a lot of friends…… throw in some “better than your average tailgate” grub, and UT-Tailgaters.com was born.

Over the years, we’ve made some new friends and added a few more canopies, chairs, and pounds of protein to menu. In 2007, we out grew our spaces in Lot 80, and needed somewhere more inviting and comfortable. So we’ve moved to the San Jacinto Rd tailgating area, just north of DKR stadium, and haven’t looked back. We’ve got a cozy spot convienient to parking, toilets, and most importanly the stadium. Now we’ve truely become a tailgating team and football family, united in creating our own sanctury at DKR.
